Lower Light Church
                   302 E. Elm St. | Petersburg, MI 49270
Pastor, Rev. David Voss
About us . . .
The Petersburg Lower Light Church was founded in 1954 by the Rev. William O. Kneal who had been pastoring the Adrian, MI Lower Light Church for the past 8 years.

Rev. William O. Kneal had felt God placing a burden on his heart to begin a work in Pertersburg, for quite some time as there had not been a Holiness church there for a number of years.

When the Annual Conference convened in August of 1954, he made his burden known to the conference board, and was authorized by the conference to explore the possibilities of opening up a work in Petersburg.  Before Camp had concluded that year, a school building across the street from the campground, had been purchased!

The work was opened and organized with seven members, and several others joining soon afterward.  The work began to prosper with wonderful visitations of the Spirit in the services!

Rev. William O. Kneal pastored the church for 12 years, until 1966 when he was elected to serve as District Superintendent.

Over the years, God has blessed us with many wonderful & Godly men serving as pastor . . .

We have many different ministries and would love to have the opportunity to minister to you and your family . . . A WARM & CORDIAL WELCOME AWAITS YOU!
Brightly beams our Father's mercy
From His lighthouse evermore
But to us, He gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore

Let the lower lights be burning
Send a beam across the wave
Some poor fainting, struggling seaman you may rescue, you may save.

Trim you feeble lamp, my brother
Some poor sailor tempest tossed
Trying now to make the harbor
In the darkness may be lost

Let the lower lights be burning
Send a beam across the wave
Some poor fainting, struggling seaman you may rescue, you may save.
